In re: Skip's and I's posting about finding people who made/starred in these films..
I know (and I'm quite sure that many of you have had this experience) that many of my acquatances don't share the love of archival film (not just euphemeral) film as I do. Heck, I've even done what Skip has done, googled some names, emailed them, and say "Hey! There's appreciation for your work!" to have them either not respond (Darn you Mr Putnam!!) to the experience where I emailed a director of a film on here, won't say who or what film, and he replied "I don't know why people would be interested". Heck I AM. Skip, I noticed you begged (in your words) Jim Stringer to do a show for him, was he reluctant that people didn't care about his films??

I would LOVE to have maybe a yahoo chat with him on the yahoo prelingerarchive group sometime.

Sorry to ramble, but this subject is quite fascinatingly annoying to me.

Jim Stringer wasn't hesitant, I was just over-enthusiastic. I am finding that folks associated with these films are amazed to know that there is a cult following. For most film people, this was just a job and they didn't expect the films to be shown outside of their intended purpose.
